Cookies and tracking

What this site stores in your browser.

Only what the site needs to work. Advertising measurement runs only after you accept it in a consent window, and never in the professional or staff area.

At a glance

  • No social media or third-party analytics cookies. Advertising measurement (Meta Pixel, Google Ads tag) runs only after you accept it in a consent window, which appears on the public pages of this site and never in the professional or staff area.
  • Reading the site requires no consent: everything else listed below is needed for a function you use.
  • Statistics are counted without cookies and switch off when your browser sends Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track.

1.Cookies and similar technologies

A cookie is a small text file that a website stores in your browser. Local storage and session storage are similar mechanisms of the browser. This page lists every such entry this site uses. It completes our privacy policy.

2.What we store

The entries of this site are strictly necessary for the function you use, or remember a choice you made. They do not identify, locate or profile you, and they are not shared with anyone. The Meta and Google cookies exist only after your acceptance; see the section on advertising measurement below.

3.Statistics without cookies

To know which pages are useful, the server counts visits without any cookie. It derives a pseudonym from your connection address, your browser signature and a secret that changes every day, so the same visit can be recognized within one day and never across days. The connection address itself is not stored. After 90 days the counts are reduced to daily totals.

If your browser sends Global Privacy Control (or the older Do Not Track signal), the site records no statistics about your visit and treats the signal as a refusal of any optional technology. Global Privacy Control is built into some browsers (for example Firefox, Brave and DuckDuckGo) and available as an extension for others; Do Not Track is in the privacy settings of most browsers. Your choice takes effect immediately and applies to every visit as long as the signal is on.

4.Content from other providers

  • Maps: pages that show a map (the home page, the patient, surgeon and tattoo pages, the surgeon locator and the tattoo directory) load the map as soon as the page opens: your browser fetches the map images from OpenFreeMap (Hyperknot Software Kft., Hungary, European Union) and sends it your connection address. The provider states that it does not record connection addresses except during a security incident, for at most 30 days, and that it may deliver the images through Cloudflare (United States). The map sets no cookie. The list of entries works without the map.
  • Address suggestions (professional order form only): if this function is switched on, your browser loads the Google Places service while you type the shipping address; Google receives your connection address and what you type in that field, under Google's privacy policy.
  • Training videos: the FixNip Academy videos are served from our own server; no video platform is involved.

Advertising measurement (only after you accept): the public pages of this site show a consent window; it does not appear in the professional area, the staff area or the professional sign-up. If you accept, your browser loads the Meta Pixel (Meta Platforms, Inc., United States) and the Google Ads tag (Google LLC, United States). They receive your connection address, browser information, the page you visit and whether you completed one of these actions: reading at least half of a page for 30 seconds, sending a sign-up form, confirming your e-mail address, a first search in the surgeon finder or in the tattoo directory, sending a contact message or a request to a listed surgeon, Centre or tattoo studio (only its kind: information, consultation, professional, tattoo artist, request to a studio, or press and other) or, for professionals, a certification request. They never learn what you wrote in a form. Our server sends the same signals directly to Meta (Meta Conversions API), with Meta's browser identifiers, again only if you accepted, so that each action is counted once even when your browser blocks the pixel. If you came from a Google advertisement and accepted, the page that opens your guide after the confirmation click loads the Google Ads tag for about a second to count the confirmation. Meta and Google use this to measure our campaigns and to decide to whom our advertisements are shown, and in Meta's case to show our advertisement to fewer people who already signed up. We never send them health information, your name or your e-mail address. You can withdraw your choice at any time through Cookie settings in the footer, and you can also opt out of Meta's use of website data in your Facebook or Instagram ad settings and at aboutads.info/choices.

This site embeds no social media buttons, no chat widgets and no external fonts, and no advertising technology loads before you accept.

5.Your choices

You can delete or block cookies and browser storage in the settings of your browser at any time. If you do, the site forgets your language and accessibility settings, and you will need to sign in again to the professional area. Blocking them does not prevent you from reading the site.

6.Your consent window

Advertising measurement is switched off when you arrive. A consent window offers two equal choices, Accept and Refuse; nothing is pre-selected, and closing the window counts as a refusal. No Meta or Google code is loaded before you accept. Your choice is kept for 6 months in the cookie `fixnip-consent`, applies to the whole site and can be changed at any time through Cookie settings in the footer; withdrawing deletes the cookies concerned. The window does not appear when your browser sends Global Privacy Control, nor in the professional or staff area. The tags never receive health information.
